What to take
You need a pair of reasonable walking shoes or, better still, boots. Even if you set off in fine weather, it’s always wise to take waterproof clothing. Take a drink and a snack, unless you have checked whether the Stubbing Wharf is open and serving food
If you have a map of the area take it as an additional safeguard. Recommended map: OS Explorer OL 21.
• Some of the trail follows the canal and a stream, so be particularly aware if you are taking children with you.
• Keep to the paths, as there are some steep drops in the surrounding area.
• Watch out for fast traffic when crossing the main road.
Thanks to: Community Rights of Way Service (CROWS), who upgraded and waymarked the route and to Hebden Bridge Local History Society who provided information for this trail.
